The Ohlone Promise

 

Scholarship

 

Give the gift of a life-changing scholarship this season! The Ohlone Promise is a two-year, full-ride scholarship for graduating seniors from Tri-Cities public high schools. The scholarship pays for all tuition, books, and required fees for the student's two years at Ohlone College - so they can put their success first by removing finances from the equation.

This scholarship creates incentives along their educatonal journey so they reach for their very best. Ohlone Promise recipients are also assigned a dedicated counselor to keep an eye on their educaiton plan and help them stick to their path.

This combination of support brings great results. Student success rates are 11% higher than their peers. Their GPAs are 17% higher. Most astoundingly, they are 43% more likely to persist in their education year-to-year than their peers.

What is the Promise?
The Ohlone Promise Scholarships pays for required tuition,
books, and enrollment fees for two years at Ohlone - a value of
approximately $3,600.

Who is it for?
High school seniors living in the Tri-City area and planning to attend
Ohlone College full-time.

To qualify, a student must:
• Plan to attend Ohlone College full-time for two years
• Be a graduating senior in a public high school from Fremont, Newark or Union City School Districts
• Have a minimum 2.5 academic grade point average
• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Submit a letter of recommendation from a high school principal, teacher or counselor
• Write a short essay
